Loren Cobbs is a strategist, speaker and experience architect who helps organizations turn ideas into experiences that move people to participate, connect and come back.
For more than 15 years, Loren has worked at the intersection of people, culture and engagement — studying what people need, what earns their trust and what moves them to participate.
Her work has taken her from consumer insights at Procter & Gamble and community engagement on a presidential campaign, to U.S. diplomacy, global communications and employee experience, to a decade of producing experiences and building communities of her own.
Today, she brings that perspective to organizations looking to do more than reach people. She helps them create something people want to be part of.
Ideas that move people toward each other.
Loren speaks about community, belonging, relationships and joy — and what it takes to build the connections we too often expect to happen on their own. Her talks combine research, personal storytelling and lessons from a decade of creating experiences and intentionally building communities people choose to return to.
When the goal is engagement, start with people.
Whether the audience is employees, customers, residents or an existing community, Loren helps organizations understand what moves people from awareness to participation — and from participation to connection.
Designed around what you want people to feel — and do next.
From global employee activations and national brand programs to festivals and public arts experiences, Loren combines strategy, audience insight and production expertise to create experiences with a purpose beyond attendance.
Loren's work spans corporate, brand and community environments. Different audiences. Different objectives. The same fundamental challenge: understanding people well enough to create something that moves them.
As Global Marketing Director for People Experience, Loren led employee activations across WPP's global workforce, including a $1M live employee experience connecting New York and London with activation resources for offices around the world. Her programs consistently generated some of the organization's strongest employee engagement.
As a Senior Vice President at Hill+Knowlton, Loren managed a $2M vaccine-equity communications program for Walgreens and led the strategy and execution of a multi-location experience bringing John Legend, health professionals and community members together for candid conversations about vaccine concerns. The conversations were also captured and transformed into content designed to extend their reach beyond the room. Walgreens was subsequently recognized as Brand of the Year, with Loren leading the award submission.
Loren created Kinfolk Fest as a large-scale Juneteenth experience designed around culture, community and connection. What began with years of producing Juneteenth experiences evolved into a fully built festival — bringing together programming, creative direction, marketing, partnerships, vendors and production into one cohesive experience. In 2026, Kinfolk Fest welcomed approximately 1,500 attendees.
Loren created Blanket Sounds to provide San Diego residents and visitors with a free, high-quality public arts experience that encourages connection across people and neighborhoods. The experience was intentionally designed around accessibility: free admission, proximity to public transit, free Sunday parking, the ability to bring your own food, and high-quality live music and art in one of the city's most sought-after public spaces.
Each gathering welcomes approximately 400 people, with roughly 40% repeat attendance. The platform also creates space for underfunded creatives to showcase their work in prominent civic spaces — expanding both access to the arts and who feels ownership of the city's cultural landscape.
Loren's career has crossed consumer research, political organizing, diplomacy, communications, employee experience, community building and live experiences. The environments changed. The fundamental questions didn't.
From the boardroom to the dance floor, Loren Cobbs has spent her career bringing people together.
Loren is a strategist, speaker and experience architect whose career has been shaped by one persistent curiosity: why do some ideas, organizations and experiences move people to participate while others don't?
She began her career studying consumer culture and behavior at Procter & Gamble before organizing communities during President Barack Obama's 2012 campaign. She later joined the U.S. Foreign Service, serving as a Public Affairs Officer in Mexico, before moving into senior communications, marketing and employee-experience leadership.
As Senior Vice President at Hill+Knowlton, Loren led major engagement work for brands including Walgreens. At WPP, she became Global Marketing Director for People Experience, developing employee activations for a workforce of more than 100,000 people around the world.
Alongside that career, Loren spent a decade producing experiences and nine years intentionally building community through SD Melanin — putting many of the same questions about participation, trust and connection to work in the real world.
Today, she brings that combination of strategy and lived experience to stages and organizations looking to better understand — and bring together — the people they serve.
In her TEDxSanDiego talk, Loren explores what it means to intentionally build your village as an adult — and why creating the community we want requires becoming an active participant in someone else's.
